Well it is the end of the summer holidays and it is definitely time to start looking for new things to do for Doofy. As most of you will know, we are big fans of messy play, so we were excited to see that KidSorted had a free trial class on for W4 Art Club at their open day.
Two things to chatter about here :
KidSorted is a new website that has been set up to help parents to find lessons and organised activities for their children. Currently based in West London, they decided to get things going with a bang by having an Open Day to allow people to try out some of the lessons available on their website.
The website is nicely laid out (definitely take a look!) and has a range of activities that looks to be pretty comprehensive. Classes include music, languages, dance, art and lots of other things. It's definitely a site that could be useful for parents in West London.
W4 Art Club
Doofy and a friend got signed up for W4 Art Club, run by the lovely Liz. The session that she was previewing was called Artabugs and is aimed at children from 16 months up to 5 years.
Whilst we knew that this was "Messy Play" I don't think that we really quite understood how messy it was going to be. WHEN THE ORGANISER PROVIDES YOU WITH OVERALLS WITH A HOOD, USE THE HOOD!!!!
As you can see from the pics, Doofy had a great time. Liz provided a massive cardboard castle and a roller tray of paint and let the kids loose on it. By letting them use rollers, brushes and sponges, they got to experiment with textures and colours. It was very much up to the kids to do what they wanted, which worked perfectly.
W4 Art Club also has lessons for older kids and parents too. Have a look at their site for more information.
Last minute weekend break with a 7 year old. We decided on CenterParcs Longleat for a post-Christmas weekend break. We arrived late at night but everything was all set up ready for us when we got there....
